Bertucci's has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for a second time and has closed a series of locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The Northborough-based chain, known for its brick oven pizza, blamed the pandemic and the financial toll of inflation, higher expenses and sagging sales. Bertucci's said it ran an operating loss in fiscal 2021 of $14 million. Bertucci's, which got its start in Somerville's Davis Square in 1981, has struggled in recent years amid increased competition in casual dining and fast-casual eating.
