Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Marlborough-based subsidiary of Japanese drugmaker Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co. Ltd., will lay off 360 employees come January. That's according to a notice the company filed with the state in order to comply with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining (WARN) Act. The cuts are expected to take place on Jan. 13. The company did not respond to multiple requests for comment. It's not clear how many of the 360 affected employees are based in Massachusetts: As of September, Sunovion employed 215 people in the state and 1,033 total, based on Business Journal research.
