National Resilience Inc., a biomanufacturing startup backed by more than $2 billion in venture capital, is scaling back operations at one of its three Massachusetts sites, and selling another one. The startup is making significant layoffs at a manufacturing facility in Allston, and selling a site in Marlborough, with plans to lease it back from the new owner. Its remaining Massachusetts portfolio includes a lab facility in Waltham. The three sites had previously accounted for around 400 of Resilience's employees nationwide, and were meant to underpin the startup's growth strategy: Last summer, CEO Rahul Singhvi told the Business Journal he planned to hire another 200 employees in the state by the end of 2023.
